American Heart heeft nadere info gegeven over het vertrek van drummer Steven. In een MySpace-blog laat de band het volgende weten:

"Steve and us have been together in bands since we were 15. Went to high-school together and were the best of friends. As you start to tour things change.. You’re around the same people constantly and fuse’s wear thin. Sometimes the "tour" atmosphere is not the best for certain people to be in."

Tijdens de tour in Australië is wederzijds besloten dat het beter was dat Steven de band verliet. Een vervanger is reeds gevonden in Jake Kalb (New Atlantic, The Fold).
